Files and Filing Workshop for State Agency Employees

The State Archives of North Carolina is happy to offer our next records management workshop: Files and Filing. This workshop will cover best practices for organizing paper and electronic files, file naming conventions, and how to make your filing system work for you and match up with the requirements of the Functional Schedule for records retention. Please note that this workshop is intended for folks who work for state agencies, not colleges/universities or local agencies.

We will offer all workshops virtually. All workshops are free of charge. Three of our four workshops are offered through Zoom. If you are not permitted to use Zoom, we encourage you to sign up for the workshop on February 2, which we will offer using WebEx.

Workshop Dates and Times:

  • Tuesday, January 26: 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM
  • Thursday, January 28: 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM
  • Tuesday, February 2: 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM (offered via WebEx)
  • Wednesday, February 3: 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM
