Free Public Records Law Mobile Application

The Sunshine Center of the North Carolina Open Government Coalition has released a free public records law application for Android and Apple devices. The public records law section of the app links to our web page and retention schedules. It also features frequently asked questions about public records law, the answers seem pretty straightforward and in line with accepted interpretations of the law.

There also a section on open meetings law, I’m less conversant on those laws than public records law, but again the information it provides seems clear and straightforward.

The app can be downloaded from the Android Market or iTunes App Store. The Sunshine Center’s announcement with some more information can be seen here. Much of the information found in the app is also available on the Sunshine Center’s website under “Holders of Public Records & Meetings” and “Seekers of Public Records & Meetings.”
